25’, Premiered in 2010, Valladolid, Spain
“Ember” deals with the desperation of man within the ongoing life cycle. The world of sense collapses for man who realizes he is destined for death. It is essential to find and even build new roads in order for life to bear meaning. However, as roads get more complicated, each crosses its path with another. The fire which has once been lit to illuminate becomes an encircling trap in time.
A whirl is the basis of existence. The artist, in fact, realizes himself by whirling as the whirl sometimes merely means repetition and sometimes the intertwinement of the beginning and the end. The whirl is the artist’s struggle to survive and to make sense of this life by illuminating it. However, this sometimes only flares up the fire surrounding him.
